Mummy Fairy, when she’s not a fairy, is Ella’s mummy. She comes from a fairy family where her mummy and sister are fairies too. Ella is a fairy-in-waiting. But Mummy Fairy is very chaotic as a fairy and doesn’t always remember her spells very well.

Ella helps her many times with the spells, because they watch Fairytube together.

Ella has two best friends and one not-best-friend. Her best friends are Tom and Lenka, and her not-best-friend is Zoe. She lives next door and can be very mean sometimes.

They all go to the same school together, but Mummy Fairy teaches Ella a great lesson when it comes to school and other children. If you want to know what this lesson is, you’ll have to read the book for yourself… or maybe ask your mummy, daddy, or another grown-up to read it to you.

My personal thoughts: As a reader of heavy books, this was such a simple and light-hearted read. It made me laugh and feel like a child again in my mind, and honestly, that felt really good — especially after reading some heavier books lately.

Thank you, Ms. Sophie Kinsella, for reminding us that these little things are important in life too.

Whimsical fairy chaos mixed with humor, heart, and a little bit of magic.
